The Benefits of TR Driver Training
Our Driver Training Specialists have a lifetime of experience and knowledge operating light and heavy vehicles and working with trainees to achieve their goals. We know one approach doesn’t suit everyone and will be working closely with each trainee to support them to achieve the goals of each course we run together. TR Driver Training programmes will ensure an increase in safety, efficiency, and compliance. We offer flexible training environment options, either in-vehicle, in-classroom, or online.

A wide range of courses, certificates and programmes are available for heavy vehicle operators including mission-critical ones such as Stability and Control Training or Safe and Fuel Efficient Driving.
These courses are ideal for companies who run light vehicles in their fleets. The programmes ensure that all drivers are professionally trained, and covers skill assessment, theoretical courses and manoeuvring training.
Our in cab programme is ideal for companies who want to assess drivers before employing them or to support operators ‘on the job’ with instruction, coaching and training in real life conditions.
TR Driver Training not only conducts licencing, but also competency assessments on a wide range of vehicles and equipment. The Health and Safety at Work Act introduced in April 2016 not only requires all operators of equipment to be appropriately licenced, but also for the competency level of the operator to be assessed.
Forklifts are always operated in environments where accidents can happen in an instant, exposing operators and organisations to major liability. Our forklift programme covers all the bases from refreshers to license endorsements and full courses.
These courses cover Class 2 through to Class 5 heavy vehicle licenses, allowing drivers to obtain a particular license without having to wait six months from the time they get their learner license. Programmes include accelerated courses and vehicle specific endorsements.

Our course is the only one of its kind in New Zealand. Nowhere else can you gain both the theoretical knowledge and practical experience in heavy vehicle stability, control, and technology dynamics. This course has been developed to give drivers an awareness of the dynamics and technologies involved in cornering, braking, and emergency steering manoeuvres, helping to prevent a jack-knife from occurring.
Our one and two-day courses for drivers of four wheel drive vehicles, light utility vehicles and quad bikes are designed to offer high-level instruction in the driving of these vehicles in an off-road situation with due regard to safety of the driver and passengers, vehicle and environment.
This course is designed to teach drivers, loaders and handlers of dangerous goods the correct procedures in handling and transporting dangerous goods legally and safely.

There is also a Telehandler course for current and trainee operators (see Forklifts and Telehandler tab on the course menu).
A practical and theory based course designed to provide truck, coach and bus operators with the latest knowledge and skills to enhance their driving performance – improving fuel consumption, safety, fatigue, compliance and environmental impact.
