Teaching good habits from an early age
Habits are easier to form in children especially when they learn how to continue to do these things as they grow up. You don’t have to be behind the wheel to start forming the habits of being a cautious and responsible pedestrian. If you learn these as a child, it will be easier for you to relate to pedestrians and other drivers when you start to drive.
This is what the Safety MAN Road Safety Truck is made for. It was built to educate children on how they should behave around trucks and other vehicles through a fun and interactive learning experience.
Their programmes show children all over New Zealand that they can help contribute to the safety of our country’s roads by being more cautious around trucks and other vehicles. The Road Safety Truck Team teaches kids practical knowledge and takes them inside the trailer where they can watch safety videos, build their own motorway, and play with toy trucks!They are also invited to sit in the passenger’s seat of the truck so they can see how the driver operates, how small pedestrians can be when you’re in a truck, as well as where the driver’s blind spots are. Giving these children the experience of being inside the truck gives them a better understanding of how difficult it can be for the truck driver to navigate when people are too close to the vehicle. This way, the children learn how they can help drivers by being good, cautious, and responsible pedestrians.
