HEB Construction partners with TR Group for its first electric traffic truck
TR Group’s goal to create a sustainable transport future today is being made possible by partnering with like-minded companies like HEB Construction. In July 2022, we delivered their first Fuso eCanter traffic truck in Christchurch. This traffic truck is 100% battery-electric, reducing greenhouse emissions, so ultimately better for the environment.
Our Christchurch Driver Trainer, Ricky Cheer, recently caught up with Ricky McGough and Dee Mackie from HEB Construction to guide them through operating the truck. After driving it for the first time, McGough says that he’s “pleasantly surprised” and states, “we all knew it was going to work quite well, but taking it for a drive, you actually get a bit of an appreciation on just how good these electric trucks are”. Mackie adds that the vehicles are “nice and smooth to drive”. We’re delighted to hear this initial feedback on the truck’s performance. However, it is the positive difference it creates for the environment that truly sets this truck apart.
We are positive that it will only get better from here as our goal of creating a sustainable transport future fast becomes a reality. As it does, we’ll keep exploring and learning about these new technologies to help our customers transition to zero-emission heavy commercial vehicles.
