TR Group ESG Annual Report 2024

TR Group has long believed in taking actions that make a positive difference to our team, the communities we serve, our industry, and the environment. We also believe that for our actions to have meaning and impact we need to be accountable for them and transparent, which is why we measure and track what we do. We’re proud to publish our second annual ESG report that records our environmental, social, and governance activities across our financial year.

Driving Recovery: TR Group Supports Operation Ōtūmatua in Port Hills Wildfire Cleanup

In February this year, the Port Hills in Christchurch were ravaged by a wildfire that burned for three weeks, destroyed over 700 hectares, and caused the evacuation of 110 properties. It was so extensive that a state of emergency was declared in Christchurch and Selwyn.

An Industry Challenge Meets a Solution

In the wake of Cyclone Gabrielle’s devastation in February 2023, an 8x4 Volvo truck left stranded in Hawke’s Bay seemed destined for the scrapyard. Submerged in floodwaters and clogged with silt, its future looked grim. However, thanks to a collaborative effort across the industry, it has been transformed into a valuable training resource for aspiring heavy commercial vehicle technicians.
